Vietnam Frontier Tech Summit 2019 curated by YellowBlocks successfully took place in the afternoon of December 5 in parallel with TechFest 2019 in Halong Bay, Vietnam.
TechFest Vietnam is an annual biggest event hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and in collaboration with other ministries and socio-economic organizations. The highlight of this year’s event was the participation of partners from the region and from around the globe such as Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, etc.
Techfest 2019 took place successfully with more than 8,000 participants, 250 connections and investment interest reached nearly 14 million USD and many other noticeable results.
VVIP Discussion with government to broaden the impacts on the innovation and startup ecosystem in Vietnam

Vietnam Frontier Tech Summit 2019 AGENDA
The audience were inspired with the keynote Smart Cities in Asia – How could countries and cities learn from each other – from Yorlin Ng, COO of Momentum Works.
She talked about the 2 ways for governments to approach smartcities : (i) From technologies angle and (ii) from actual use cases angle. She also shared the case studies about how the cities in China and Indonesia are implementing smart city solutions and the roadmap to building smart cities: (1) Build small test cases in different areas, (2) Get local companies to work with foreign companies that have experience and technology, and (3) Government to foster environment and Provide technological infrastructure.
Tuan Nguyen, the Deputy Director of SGInnovate also impressed the audience with his sharing How to harness the power of Deep Tech, AI & Data for Good about the open innovation landscape in Vietnam and the next step forward for Vietnam could be to build a strong community in deep tech. He further revealed that SGInnovate could share its experiences in deep tech ecosystem and deep tech investments, and collaborate with Vietnam on deep tech projects, such as thought leadership events and roundtables, corporate-startup collaborations, etc.
